There are no apparent background tasks that could explain it ![]() Running the Mac diagnostic tool (rebooting with cmd-d) suggests that the hardware is okīooting off my nightly backup drive makes no difference so I don't think it's a harddrive issue (this will have the latest Mac update too, though) Things I've tried:īooting into safe mode makes no differenceīooting into single use mode and running fsck -fy reports that the disk is ok I'm a Mac developer so I'm technically minded - I've tried every avenue I can think of to narrow this down, but I now need to help to see if I've missed something. As of Tuesday morning my Mac has been essentially unusable due to it being extremely slow and beachballing continuously. ![]() Everything appeared to work correctly and I used the Mac with no problems on Monday. I updated to the latest version of Mac OS this weekend.
